A Quilt from Long Ago

This is a quilt that I started when I was about eight years old. My mom bought me the set of fabric, already cut out and ready to start. I worked on it for years and years, even hand sewing in the circles in the middle of each flower. I believe the design is called a Dresdin design. Even with all of those years of work, it was left unfinished when I left for college. My wonderful mother finished it, sewing all of the flowers onto black squares and quilting them all together. It's a gigantic quilt, (my mom says it's a King size, but I think it's bigger) and absolutely beautiful! I am so glad my mom finished it for me! She even made me matching pillow shams! What a great mom!
