Homemade Christmas - Chocolate Cherry Lip Balm

After checking out some books from the library, I am completely over come with making homemade lip balm! It's so easy, and it's surprisingly affordable!  I'll be showing you several recipes I have modified and love to use!
Recipe #1
Chocolate-Covered Cherries Lip Balm Recipe

  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 Tbsp beeswax
  • 1.5 Tbsp grated cocoa butter
  • 2 t. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp vitamin E oil (or 3 punctured, squeezed out vitamin E capsules)
  • 3 drops wild cherry extract
On very low heat, melt the beeswax in a small stainless steel bowl or pot. After the oil is liquid, add cocoa butter and coconut oil and stir until melted. Remove from heat, add vitamin E oil and essential oil and stir well. Transfer to a small container and let set for 3 hours (or until completely set).
Yield:
three small tins. About 2 oz total
I got the original recipe here, but it's slightly modified.
